SAND SCHOOL: Arts & Crafts with Baha Play Sand

When it comes to sand activities, the possibilities for fun are limitless.

And when it comes to arts and crafts, a whole variety of mediums have their place in creativity – including Baha Play Sand!

Here are some ideas to spice up your next play session with your sandbox or sand table:

Sand Sculptures

Challenge yourself or your friends to a sand sculpture contest! Baha Play Sand is the perfect consistency for building and molding sandcastles. Use buckets, shovels, and other tools to create unique shapes, or try to recreate famous landmarks or sculptures.

Sand Art

Create colorful masterpieces by using just Baha Play Sand, glue, and paper. Draw designs on the paper with glue and sprinkle sand over the glue. You can use different colors of sand to create vibrant artwork. Feel free to add finger paints or craft paints to the mix for more textural fun!

Sand Jars

Collect small and colorful objects like seashells, pebbles, and beads and layer them in a clear jar (or other container) with colored Baha Play Sand to create a unique sand art creation. Experiment with swirly or “tie-dye” designs in the sand by using toothpicks or wooden skewers. Insert them down the sides of the jar to see the layers of sand mix and change.

DIY Kinetic Sand

Have you ever played with stretchy, kinetic sand? Make your own with Baha Play Sand in whatever color(s) you choose, with easy-to-find ingredients! Pull it, stretch it, squeeze it…and you can use cookie cutters, cutlery, or other molds to create sand shapes.

How to Make DIY Sand Toys

Making your own sand toys can be a fun and cost-effective way to spend quality time with your child while encouraging their creativity and imagination. Here are some DIY Baha Play Sand toy ideas:

Sandcastle Molds

Use plastic containers or cups to make molds of different shapes and sizes for building sandcastles. Simply fill the mold with wet Baha Play Sand and turn it over to release the shape and create your castle.

Scoops and Shovels

Cut the bottom of large and small plastic bottles to create scoops, or use wooden spoons and clean, “retired” kitchen utensils (no longer in use in the kitchen) for digging and moving sand around.
